I know all of you were probably expecting a graphic related update but that won't be happening today. Today is my birthday and as such I am taking the day to drink myself into a haze of stupidity. Hehe... But seriously, I will bring a large update within the next couple of weeks.

If I have no graphics then why am I updating? I wanted to express some thoughts on a issue going about in the graphics community. There is a lot of blame shifting as to why the community has been torn and also why a lot of people have felt the need to close their sites to the immense amount of bashing. Apparently Acerbic Bitches is being portrayed as the evil haters and Faedubh is the self proclaimed Obama of the web. The fact that Angel called Faedubh the Obama of the web is RIDICULOUS! I never even heard of Faedubh before today and that was only because I was checking out Acerbic Bitches. Now I am not "picking sides" or anything of that nature because I honestly couldn't give a chickens ass about either site. Then why am I talking about them?

Apparently there was a "war" dating back to about 2 years ago and AB was "supposedly" the cause with all their "bashing". While I did not have Infinitum back then I did have Angelic Wing Designs, which yes I did close around that time period. Was it because of AB? No, of course not, it was due to a simple server crash and lose of information. AB is said to have bullied sites around and that caused those designers so much distraught that they closed their websites. I personally don't think AB has that much power over people, does it? Acerbic Bitches only spoke of my website once (over layout header size being too big) and honestly I had no problem with it. In fact when I read what they said I couldn't help but agree. I Mind you I am aware that this is not always the cause but in most of their posts they do in fact make valid examples with justified reasoning. Am I favoring Acerbic Bitches over Faedubh? No. Like I said I couldn't give a shit about what either site has to say. I design for myself and my opinions about my creations are the ones who matter the most. But pointing fingers to AB is beyond stupid and pointless. Acerbic Bitches has done nothing more than point out the obvious. More so I can't think of one thing Faedubh has done to rightfully dub themselves the Obama of the web.

As a designer I have never sought out to bond with other designers. The opinions of other people do not influence my decisions and I would like to think this is the cause with other designers as well. But isn't this "pointing fingers" game just going to cause another "war" between an already damaged community? Those who claim to want to reunite this community with peace and love (and that other bullshit) are basically the ones now adding fuel to what was an almost diminished flame. Like I said, I have never been one to be in the community and so I have no direct experience with this so called war that happened or anything of the sort. But what got my attention is that the self-proclaimed saviors of this dying community are doing nothing more than childish finger pointing. If you want to save this community then stop doing the very same thing that got this community into the state that it is today. Putting the blame all on one website isn't the answer to the problem (and it certainly won't make your webpage any better either).
